This is the latest story from Nick Hayden & myself on Series 2 of Hungry Beast on ABC1. I'd love to know what fucked up invention you'dve made if YOU were the US government...

a single man & the blind side
Yo, I got my daytime tv on with the ladies of The Circle this fine morning. We talked Oscar Bait films & wearing sassy ties, poorly tied
As you can see, I'm still a bit green at this live tv business, but lemme know what you thought of the films down below. A triple j review of A Single Man will be coming this weekend.

space travel: waste or worth it??
Is space travel really all it's cracked up to be? Check out the debate down below from this weeks episode of Hungry Beast
You can vote your thoughts on the Hungry Beast website. Also, did you ever wonder who Australia's CIA is?? Meet ASIO:
This week's ep of Hungry had tonnes of other good stuff: I highly recommend watching this piece on Asteroids: How They Will Kill You and All The Ways You Can't Stop Them (ahem... total proof that we need more space travel)

the other news
"The Other News" is a little segment that has run on Hungry Beast since episode one. I still look forward to it every week - so I decided to compile all of the 30-sec episodes here.
These stories were largely compiled by the entire Hungry Beast team and animated, at various points, by 3 amazing designers: Patrick Clair, Luke Harris and Robert Grieves. I highly recommend watching them fullscreen:)
shutter island & the hurt locker
These are my first reviews of the week on The Circle for Network Ten. I'm still mastering this business of live tv, so I probably still suck a wee bit. I had to skip through The Hurt Locker a tad, fear not - I gotta full review coming to triple j later in the week.
In case you're free next Wednesday, I'll be on live at around 11:20am talking about what's happening at the ye olde picture house.

the 3rd and the 7th
This is a 12 minute short film called "The Third and the Seventh". It was made by a filmmaker named Alex Roman using Vray and 3D Studio Max. As far as i can tell doesn't have much of a story but - FUCK ME - it's amazing to look at. Whack it in fullscreen and get absorbed.
You can find out more about how it was made here

Keiichi Matsuda, an architecture student, produce this short movie called Augmented (Hyper)Reality: Domestic Robocop. The idea was to examine the social and architectural consequences of augmented reality technology. Read more about him here

the circle
So, I'm gonna be moonlighting a bit & doing my slightly ADHD film reviews for the nice ladies of The Circle, the new morning show on Network Ten. I'm still doing reviews for triple j & ABC Local Radio and the general weirdness I cover for Hungry Beast). This is something a bit different, it's a different audience but I'm still overactive, wildly gesticulating me. It's live tv, every Wednesday morning. Yes, that's live and in the AM.
Expect me to mess it up:)
Here's my first run at it. Please be kind.

just say no... and awesome.
Not a fan of anti-drug ads normally, but this is pretty damn good to look at.
netherland dwarf
This is one of my favourite short films from last years Flickerfest. I stumbled accross it on YouTube. It's from Blue Tongue Films the Aussie team behind The Square & upcoming drama Animal Kingdom. They also picked up an Oscar nom this morning for their excellent short film Miracle Fish
