It's called Sita Sings the Blues check my triple j review right here...Wanna watch it? Well you can stream it here, but I recommend downloading a nice big version here and enjoying it on a big-ass screen. Oh since we're not paying to see the film, it might be nice to shoot her a few dollars 'o' donation cash, I definitely am.

So very stupid. Yet so very amusing.
advertising on the abc?
Well, not quite. But there is definitely advertising on the ABC's official Comedy YouTube Channel. Clearly been done as a part of YouTube's banner ad project, but I wonder if Aunty is aware of it.

Hmm, GayChubbyDating... could also be a joke. I'm concerned about what Google Ads thinks of Lawrence Leung.

up all night with nick & nora's infinite playlist
Night-time does funny things to people, it makes us humans more adventurous. Sometimes it encourages a lot of bad movies, but also great flicks too. Inspired by the release of Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, I pulled together my favourite flicks about all-night benders for this week's Flicked

nerd rock is sexoflex
So this is a video that surfaced at sci-fi convention Dragon Con. I can't tell you whether or not Le Sexoflex is a joke or not (godamn, I hope so). I can however tell you that they are completely fucking brilliant. Any song that mentions L Ron Hubbard, Frodo Baggins and cocklsapping is A-okay by me.
It did get me thinking about the rise of Geek Rock, Wizard Rock an Nerdcore. I've always had a softspot for Optimus Rhymes (Rivendell in the house??). If you wanna know more, I really recommend the doco Nerdcore For Life.
Whats the best nerd rock you've ever seen/heard. Got nerd pain? send me your nerd lyrics
watchmen condom: awesomest promotional item ever?
Okay, I've already seen Watchmen, which means unlike every other nerd on earth, I don't actually have the boner-to-end-all-boners about this flick. But I assure you, If I did, I would be wearing this.

It even comes in Dr Manhattan blue. Ahhh bless. So what do you think? is this the stupidest promotional idea ever - stupider than the Blindness Blind Glasses? That were so stupid that the bling community insisted on boycotting the movie.
Blind People.
Boycotting.
Movie.
See, everyone looks stupid there.

virtual worlds. real love
After watching a week of really lame movies, this film was welcome relief. Its a short from called World Builder and it may be 8 minutes long, but totally and utterly worth it. Watch it in Fullscreen.
World Builder from Bruce Branit on Vimeo.
So, it's basically Star Trek's Holodeck if it were created by Adobe using an iPhone Mulitouch interface. The music is also gorgeous, isn't it? World Builder the work of a Kansas City-based filmmaker named Bruce Branit. He shot it in one day but it took 2 years to produce (all by himself too) Branit has worked on King Kong, and visually stunning tv shows like Lost and my dearly departed favourite Pushing Daisies. Here's his Vimeo Account

mgmt's "kids" played on iphones
My iPhone addiction knows no bounds. My girlfriend can attest to that. This tickled me pick.
The Mentalists' are a UK all-female quartet and they performed this cover of MGMT's "Kids" using iPhone apps Ocarina, Retro Synth, miniSynth, and DigiDrummer Lite. Mind you, the girls should be careful, it seems MGMT have gotten quite litigious of late.

ridley scott to make monopoly movie
So ever since it was announced that Ridley Scott was making a film of the Monopoly game, all the right-headed people of earth have been scratching their heads wondering what in fucks name this movie would look like *crosses fingers and fantasises about giant 3d Tron-like monopoly board*
Thankfully this week Scott and and executive producer Brian Goldner, who also happens to be the CEO of “Monopoly” owner Hasbro, have spoken to MTV Movies to dish the details... As it turns out their definition of 'details' is actually pretty vague. So far they've agreed that the economy is pretty big on peoples minds, so that will probably be a part of it. “The whole world is about the financial markets,” Goldner told MTV News. “You can’t turn on the news today without understanding the financial markets and what’s going on out there.” Scott seems pretty confident, but please all lets remember that this is the man that made Kingdom of Heaven, so he's due for a bloated, pointless mess. Goldner on the other hand seems downright drunk with power, announcing that he would also produce fims based on “Stretch Armstrong” and the “Ouija Board,”.
As it turns out these arent the stupidest things that they've ever based a movie on...

unclipped : hype williams
Super stylized images, bold images and rich colours that seep from any available orifice. This is the world of music video director, photographer and style-icon David LaChappelle: One, big loud, messy, loose party. Or at least – that’s how it feelsFor LaChappelle, poverty and celebrity are the two sides of the same coin. Flick on Rage anytime and wait until you stubble across The Vines’ debaucherous clip for ‘Outtathaway’ (with Craig Nicolls belting gradually ripping the walls apart fist by fist) or Kelis’ simulated-fornication-fest “Goodstuff” and of course Christina Aguillera’s crotchless chaps in ‘Dirrty’ and you get the sense that LaChappelle is using music videos to taunt you, “We’re having more drugs, alcohol and sex than you”. And yet, when you turn around to look at LaChappelle’s photography or his brilliant 2005 doco Rize about Krump Dancing in LA’s violent impoverished South Central you’ll notice that they both exude the exact same glamor.
It’s probably fitting that Music Video’s Patron Saint of the Party began his career at one. David LaChapelle was born in Connecticut in 1968. At age of 19, LaChapelle went to New York. Legend has it that LaChappelle got his first professional gig from Andy Warhol, the king of pop art. It was at New York’s Infamous Studio 54 and laChappelle was working as a scantily clad bus boy.
All this said, LaChapelle’s onscreen bashes aren’t always fun ones. One of LaChappelle’s more downbeat videos was the world’s favourite loud-mouthed queen Elton John. His 2001 track ‘This Train Don’t Stop Here Anymore’ stars Justin Timberlake as Elton circa 1973. He wanders aimlessly through a sea of big, hair, snug-fitting pants, and purple eye shadow. There is something deeply sad about it.
In keeping with the totally-self-serving theme, you gotta see Britany Spears Everytime video. Aside from being a hilariously shithouse track, LaChappelle shows off the Britster being horribly assaulted by paparazzi. This one is less sad. And more… well… sad.
Though for my favourite LaChappelle clip, it’s a bit of a toss up. It’s either The Dandy Warhols “If You Were the Last Jukie on Earth’ with cooks up a vat of Heroin Chic in a stock of fluro 60’s camp. End Result? Dancing Styrofoam syringes.
The other favourite is a bit of tone shift: Moby’s ‘Natural Blues’ which has the famous bald vegan in old-age makeup being whisked away from this mortal coil by the angel of death (Christina Ricci) and if that don’t weird you out, I give up.
Don't forget, the most recent Unclipped (Hype Williams) is on stands now in this months Jmag.
