So we're 1 ep down and 9 to go on new tv show Hungry Beast - an alternative take on news, meda & culture. I did a pretty comprehensive tour of twitter & a few blogs today and it seems like there was a split descision on the show. A lot of people really hated it and a lot of people really liked it. Some people just hated me. Hey, it's a work in progress and it'll only improve with your involvement/constructive opnion. So please have a watch here and let us know what you think.

Just watched it then - loved most of it.
I know I might sound really callous here but the War on Terror segment with the widow and the soldier's mother, although important in its emotional resonance, really felt out of place with the rest of the show.
Media Scam - awesome work
Mr. Marbles - a clever TT parody for once
Pandas - YES. More of these fights please.
The little snippets of facts etc - so cool.
Also...19 Hosts??? Sounds a tad too Polyphonic Spree for my liking. I reckon 5-6 could have done just as good a job.
But regardless, it looks like a show that will come up with some really awesome ideas.
Kind of like NPR's This American Life, except more to do with the internet/modern day and less to do with stories about squirrels (although a cat does come close).
Conor.
I generally like it. There's certainly room for improvement, but it's only the first episode and it would be insane to expect perfection right from the get-go.
To be critical for a moment:
-The Afghan soldier segment did definitely feel out of place, and I can't say I was thrilled when they announced a follow-up next week. The show otherwise had an anarchic spirit about it, which was good fun. I'm open to insightful stuff like this - to your credit, it had an emotionally raw edge to it that is seldom seen in similar parts of other shows - but I think it's best that you stick to one path, so that people return to it more easily.
-The Mr. Marbles skit was a step in the right direction, but ultimately wasn't funny enough to really resonate with me.
-The factoids and quotes were a little too rapid-fire. I understand that it fits in perfectly with the theme "tell us something we don't know", but we need time to digest this stuff. Just throwing up interesting figures works for about fifteen minutes, but I feel like they need to be wrapped up in a more interesting package to have real weight.
It's a good show for people with short attention spans, because it's basically 19 different shows rolled into one. A show that I can finally pay attention to for a full episode!
I thought it was absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to see what else you guys do.
I thought it was well thought out, nicely balanced and interestingly presented.
