500 testicled voice-over destroys amazing trailer

Check out the trailer for the new flick 500 Days of Summer. Looks amazing. It has Zooey Deschanel AND Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It also has that amazing track from Australia's own The Temper Trap. It's a brilliant, brilliant trailer... except that freaking voice-over?! I get what they're trying to do. They seem to be emulating the kind of voice-over you'd get from a 60's/70's movie - Sorry, it just doesn't fit. If they'd played up the anachronistic old-skool element in the graphics and visual style then maybe it might have worked.

Oh boy. I agree, it sounds terrible! The movie itself looked great.

It also makes me think that trailer producers have got LAZY and won't edit them down properly if they know it will be posted online. Did I need to hear (500) Days of Summer so often? it also makes me feel like I've watched all the "good bits", even if I don't understand them. If the guy sounded a tad more like Morgan Freeman I may have bought into it... Sarah x

I love this trailer, and yeah, the voiceover is a little off putting - but if you just forget about that distraction its amazing.

theres a wave of indie "romance' films coming our way, well at least to the US. In addition to this trailer, you should check out the trailer for Breaking Upwards (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfHR9s1u4bM), which also looks great.
